Microsoft | Sofware | DirectX 11.2 will be provided only for Windows 8.1 and Xbox One | Microsoft has confirmed that DirectX 11.2, the next generation version of the application programming interface (API) and the hardware abstraction layer (HAL) for a multimedia device will be exclusive to Windows 8.1 and the Xbox One console.

DirectX 11.2 is updated to Windows 8.1 will introduce a number of new features, including:
