Instead of using a Windows machine, you can have the best of both worlds by installing Windows 8 on your Mac using Apple's Boot Camp Assistant.

Boot Camp allows you to create a separate partition on your hard drive to install an instance of Windows. More recently, Apple updated Boot Camp in OS X 10.8.3 to be compatible with Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro. As we pointed out to you in the past, installing Windows on your Mac is a simple process: you just need to set aside time to complete the task.

Before you begin, you will need to install disk or ISO for Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro, 8GB USB drive and a Mac running OS X 10.8.3. Updates to make the Boot Camp and Windows 8 compatible only available in 10.8.3. You can find your Mac Is capable of running OS X 10.8.3, and thus the Boot Camp 5 to see Apple's Knowledge Base article Boot Camp. If you have all the rounded and all checks out, let's get started.

Step 1.

Launch Boot Camp Assistant. You can quickly find it by using a spotlight, the utility or by searching Launchpad. After starting the Boot Camp Assistant, you will be asked what actions you want to do to make your Windows 8 install.

If you have an ISO to install Windows 8 on, you will need to create a USB install disk, and it is a good idea while you are doing that to download the latest Windows support software from Apple. I came on the installation disk is almost 5GB of space is used after it is created.

Or if you've installed the disk, you can skip creating another one and just download the latest update. Updates will be installed on a USB drive, which will then allow you to install the appropriate driver for Windows setup process to ensure your Mac hardware works well with Windows 8.

If you only have time to download the update and make installation disk, you can install Uncheck the box and back to the Boot Camp assistant when you have time.

Step 2:

Start the installation process by setting the size of the partition that you want to stick to your Windows 8 installation. Minimum suggested size of 20GB, which is more than enough if you plan to use Windows 8 sparingly. Install Windows 8 on my machine took about 6GB of space, so you can probably get away with 15GB if you are hard pressed for space.

After Boot Camp partition your hard drive, your Mac will reboot using the installation disk and are installing Windows 8. Time for the installation process to complete will vary in time based on your system.

Step 3:

Once Windows 8 is installed and you have entered the requested information, you may have to reboot the system several times before launching Apple software update part of the installation. This is arguably the most important step of the installation like installing drivers for your hardware. Your screen may look a little with very small text, or large text, and is difficult to move the mouse around the screen during this step; expected and will go after Apple drivers installed.
Step 4:

When Apple updates finished installing, your machine will boot into Windows. You are ready and ready to go! The installation process is not all that difficult: in fact, it is quite easy. You will need to download Windows updates as you normally would for a new Windows machine. If you want to boot back into OS X partition your machine, you can click on the Boot Camp icon in the task bar and select "Restart to OS X." Additionally, you can hold the option key on your Mac keyboard when booting up to select the partition you want to boot into.
