Microsoft | Sofware | Windows Failed To Install App Preview 8.1 Update on Certain PC | Microsoft first launched Windows 8.1 update preview a few days ago, along with some improvements to the built-in tools Reading List.
It turns out that Windows 8.1 Preview completely failed to install the latest build of the Reading List on a particular computer, although all the other updates are being deployed fine.
Users are provided with a rather vague error message that says "Something happened and this application can not be installed. Please try again."
Pressing the "Try Again" button makes absolutely no difference, so cancel the update is the only way to go.
Because chances are you know, Reading List is one of the applications included in Windows 8.1 Preview, which enables users to store web links and other content for later viewing. This application is only available for users of Windows 8.1 and is not available from the Store to the computer is not running the OS update.
