Microsoft | Sofware | How to Remove Desktop, Documents, Pictures, Downloads, and Videos From PC in Windows 8 | PC users who have upgraded to Windows 8.1, now, may have found that Microsoft has changed its name to PC Computer, PC and now displays the Desktop, Documents, Pictures, Downloads, and Videos folders in addition to hard drives, optical drives, and removable devices .

when you open the PC (Computer) by double clicking on the PC icon on the desktop or by pressing Windows + E hotkey, Explorer now not only shows the drive but also shows the folder mentioned above.

Although impossible to hide Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Pictures and Video folders by clicking on the small arrow icon next to Folder, some users may not feel the need this folder on the PC (My Computer), the Desktop and Downloads folder already exists in the navigation pane (the under Favorites) and one can always add the Documents, Pictures, and Videos to the Favorites folder for quick access.

If, for any reason you want to delete the folder from the PC or the computer, complete the instructions given below.

• Step 1: Open the Run dialog box. To do this, simultaneously press the Windows key + R. Type Regedit.exe in the box and then press Enter to open the Registry Editor. Click the Yes button when you see the UAC dialog.

• Step 2: In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following key:

• Step 3: Right-click on the button below and delete them one by one:

1. Remove {374DE290-123F-4565-9164-39C4925E4678} key to delete the Downloads folder.
2. Remove {B4BFCC3A-DB2C-424C-BO29-7FE99A87C641} key to delete the Desktop folder.
3. Remove {1CF1260C-4DD0-811F-4ebb-33C572699FDE} key to delete the Music folder
4. Remove {3ADD1653-EB32-4cb0-BBD7-DFA0ABB5ACCA} key to delete the folder Pictures
5. Remove {A0953C92-50DC-BE83-43bf-3742FED03C9C} key to delete the video folder
6. Remove {A8CDFF1C-4878-43be-B5FD-F8091C1C60D0} key to delete the Documents folder.

Desktop, Downloads, Documents, Music, Video, and Picture should not appear on the PC or Computer.
