Microsoft | Sofware | Features of the Windows Experience Index in Windows 8.1 Preview dispensed | Windows 8.1 does have a lot of amazing new features, and even Windows 8.1 can be regarded as a total overhaul of Windows 8. But it turns out there are some features removed in Windows 8.1. Previous WinPoin already discussed about the loss Messaging app and turned off Facebook and Flickr integration in the Photos application. Today WinPoin find again a missing feature: Windows Experience Index!
In Windows 8, the Windows Experience Index is still there
But in Windows 8.1 Preview, Windows Experience Index is no longer
Windows Experience Index is a computer performance assessment features Microsoft introduced in Windows Vista since 2007. By using this statistic Windows users can learn quickly how tough their computer's performance.
At the beginning of first introduction, Microsoft said that Windows Experience Index is a quick and easy way to determine whether a software or application can run on its consumer PCs. But in fact, this feature is less useful and less used by the software maker. Software makers still prefer to write a list of the necessary hardware to run their software rather than using the Windows Experience Index calculation.
Maybe because it feels not so necessary that finally Microsoft decided to exclude this feature in Windows 8.1 Preview. With so most likely in Windows 8.1 you will not see again the name Windows Experience Index.
