Microsoft | Sofware | Windows 8.1 RTM Launch in August | Preview Windows 8.1 comes with special options that allow users to boot directly to the desktop and the Start screen pass.
In addition, a separate arrangement gives them the possibility to launch a so-called "All Apps" view mode on the Start screen that provides one-click access to all the tools that are installed on a particular computer.
We've heard that a lot of users who really tried to keep the default boot option Start screen is turned on, but instead of live tiles interface, they want to get right to display all applications.
The only thing you need to do to tweak the operating system in such a way that it will take you to the All Apps display mode after boot to set this as the default style Start screen.
So just right click the Taskbar, click "Properties", go to the "Navigation" tab and look to the Start screen in the bottom of the screen.
Enable "Show Application automatically see when I go to Start," and you're ready to go. Make sure you do not activate the "Go to the desktop when I entered not Start" option, because this configuration will automatically take you to the start screen instead of the desktop.
Reboot your computer and try new customization.

Keep in mind that while the "All Apps" view is helpful in some cases, the Start screen can easily get messy when you install more applications.
Live tile interface, on the other hand, are designed to be easier to manage, while also providing real-time updates on weather, mail, tweets and other content you can access.
If you want to return to the Start screen default mode, just disable the option and reboot the computer.
