As with other major manufacturers of SSD, Corsair also has offered free software to check, download and update the firmware. To update your SSD firmware Corsair, you need to follow the instructions given below.

Note: SSD Firmware can be updated only when the SSD controller in AHCI mode. Make sure that the controller is in AHCI mode before starting to update the firmware. You can change the controller to reboot your PC and access the BIOS.

Step 1: Before you begin, it is important to back up all the data from your SSD. You can manually copy all files or use the free tools available to reserve them to a safe location.

Step 2: The next step is to shut down all applications running on your PC. We also recommend you connect your notebook or netbook into resources and filling 100%, such as impaired update may corrupt your SSD.

Step 3: Let us begin the actual procedure by downloading the Corsair SSD Toolbox software. Corsair SSD Toolbox is a free software to optimize your SSD drive and updating the firmware. Once downloaded, run the setup file and complete the installation by following simple on-screen instructions.

Step 4: Launch SSD Toolbox. By default SSD SSD Toolbox shows information and also an option to check for firmware updates. If you are unable to view drive information and update firmware option, simply click on the Drive information tab in the left pane to see those options.


Step 5: Update Firmware button to begin checking for the latest firmware version. If no update is available, you will see the following dialog box with the option to download the update.


And if there is no update available or if your SSD model is not supported, you will see a message that says "can not find the firmware update for this drive".

Click on the Download button to start downloading the firmware update.

Step 5: Once the firmware is downloaded to your PC, you will see an option to implement and update firmware. Click the Apply button to start the firmware update. Should not be more than one minute to complete the update.
